Digital Image Editing

How often have you taken a photo that is almost the perfect picture, but something spoils it? Worse still, it may be the only record you have of a particular event or person. Fortunately with digital imaging, it is often possible to correct some of the errors, or in some cases create something where no photo existed in the first place.

Of course you can do a lot yourself with the right software, however to learn how to produce professional looking results can take time and money. Most digital cameras and scanners come bundled with some basic photo editing software, but for serious editing you need to be prepared to spend some money. At the top end of the range is Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately this costs over $1,000 unless you are a student. CreateIT sells and supports a range of photo editing software, but if you don't intend to use the software frequently, or have time available to spend learning how to use it, you may well find paying to have your image editing done for you more cost effective.

Following are some examples of the kind of work that CreateIT can do.

Selective exposure correction.

Exposure of the background is correct, however the subject is too dark.

The subject is now correctly exposed however the background is not altered.

Creating an image from multiple source images.

The subject is photographed on his own.

The two subjects are combined in the one image with tonal qualities and size altered to match. The diagonal line is due to the second image being scanned from a heavily creased source. No effort was made to correct this.
